I have been cooking beans for years and I will honestly admit I did not know there is a gas free method for cooking beans. And I certainly didn’t know that sugars from the beans causes gas. We learn something new every day. I also saw that you noted you should rinse the beans twice. I only rinse mine one time. But now that I think about it rinsing them twice might be a good idea.

Here’s something I wonder if your readers know. I have ran across many recipes online that always say you can throw dry beans in a slow cooker or crockpot and with the time indicated they’ll come out nice and tender. However, this never happens for me. My beans always come out a little crunchy when I throw them into my crockpot. So I’m assuming that crockpot and slow cookers vary on times when it comes to cooking dry beans. But I’ve had an off bad experience to know, it’s best to soak the beans either using the quick soak or overnight method. Then, you can follow the recipe for the crockpot or slow cooker.
